Welcome to Rugs of Ireland
We’re Sharon and Seán, the aunt and nephew duo behind Rugs of Ireland. This brand grew from a shared love of home, heritage and the quiet beauty of Irish craft. Rugs of Ireland is our way of bringing the depth of Irish culture, history and landscape into the centre of the home, through pieces made with care.
Millenia of Provenance
Our patterns draw inspiration from some of Ireland’s earliest and most celebrated art forms. Celtic knotwork, displayed on monastic manuscripts, ancient jewellery and relics form the core ethos that drives our design language.
Reinterpretations that remain respectful, restrained and made to live gracefully in contemporary spaces while carrying the depth of our past.
Made slowly, with pride.
Every rug passes through the hands of skilled craftspeople in Donegal, working within sight of An Grianán Aileach, Fahan’s ancient Celtic cross and the coastal light of Lough Swilly. This gives each rug a sense of place, that they've earned the sacred patterns that adorn them. This is slow craft created with intention. This is the Irish way.
For Those Who Carry Ireland With Them
Our customers are Irish by birth, by ancestry or by heart. What unites them is a desire to keep something of Ireland close, woven into daily life.
We offer rugs that transcends simple décor, a reminder of a connection shared across oceans and generations. A subtle yet constant expression of heritage in the home.
One Rug, One Tree
For every rug purchased, we plant a native Irish tree that will never be felled or sold.
In partnership with Hometree, we help restore Ireland’s lost woodlands and protect the landscapes that inspired our designs.
